I just realized last night, that FWH and I are in a good place right now. We’re talking about our feelings every day. We started going to a marriage group that I think that we’re going to mesh with really well. Both of us have this calm, relaxed, united air about is that is noticeable. We’re instinctively reaching out to each other at the same time. It’s almost as if life has slowed down, taken a turn for the better, and instead of shooting uphill on the rollercoaster, we’re just cruising along in a very good place.

I’m liking it a lot! I’m liking the look in his eyes when I step through the door. I’m liking the way that he reaches for my hand when we’re together. I’m liking the wave of love I feel, when I see him. I’m liking waking up in the middle of the night to find that he’s holding me. I’m liking moving into him, when he’s asleep in bed, and having him automatically make a place for me to put my head on his chest.

My goodness! At our Advanced Age, I do believe that we’re falling in love again. Or re-discovering love again. Or something. But whatever it is, I like it!

Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.
