I want to write an encouraging "hang in there" card to my sister, whose marriage is falling apart. She has decided to leave her husband (not infidelity related) and she's really struggling emotionally, but is in the stage of getting her ducks in a row before broaching the divorce talk with him. He knows, but they haven't said the words yet.

I want to send her a card that tells her I'm there for her and that things will get better - but I don't want to write those words in case her husband reads it. I want to encourage her, but not exactly throw the D word into the mix if you know what I mean.

I've been sitting her for 20 minutes trying to find something to say that won't sound like "sorry your marriage is ending, I'm sure another man will come along" but carries the same message of commiseration and hope for the future.

Any ideas?

Are you open to a theme of a shared journey through life? Sisters holding each other up and helping carry each other's burdens? Love that endures from cradle to grave?

I think a card about being on a journey and when in good or bad times that you will be there for her and tell her how wonderful you think she is and you just wanted to let her know.

See no mention that there is any issues. Just a "Hey I think you are great" and "I'm here"

Oh 'shared journey' is great! Thanks so much guys. A shared journey, good and bad times, and I can even tell her I'm thinking of all the times she was there to help carry my burdens and how strong she has been. That way it's just solidarity and mutual support and not necessarily a "sympathy during your hard time" type of thing.

Thanks! I was at a loss.

And if it has a kitty or two, so much the better, Everything goes better with cute kitties. They are very calming.
