I'm periodically checking my WH's browser history, and he keeps searching the word "null" on different websites. Is this slang for something? Is this a secret way for him to meet up with women? Something seems fishy.

From what I know it means literally "nothing"

I did google as well and didn't notice anything strange, bunch of math and computer stuff and an organic farmer on YouTube.

Or it could be this: null sex drive

I doubt he's asexual, as he is a sex addict, and acted out with many women. He searched it on a few sites, but what disturbs me is that he searched it on populace . com and entered our city. The results were locations. Exotic pleasure, pickle iron co. (what the heck?) the gentleman's club, and some other unsavory titled locations. Is this a sneaky way to find locations that offer illegal services?

I would wonder if there's some kind of software installed which alters search terms so as to cover one's tracks.

Does this make any sense? Found on a Penn State site:

A Null Search

Why Search for Empty Fields?

A null search is one in which you search for a field which is empty, or contains no data. This is a very useful tool for database maintenance because searching for empty fields often picks up incomplete records,

Conversely you can search for a field which is not empty, that is a record with some information. Both searches allows you to track the progress of database maintenance or the status of a record. Empty fields can also be indicators of where information is not known in general, sometimes important for academic research.

Filemaker Pro

To find all records with an empty field, enter Find mode, then enter just == into the field.
To find all records in which a field includes some data, go into Find mode, then enter the wild card asterisk (*).
Access

To find all records with an empty field, go into a filter or query and enter Is Null.
To find records with some data in a field, enter the wildcard asterisk (*) or Not Is Null.

Hmm. I'm wondering if someone lists a business or a service in such a way that it comes up like that in a search. I am not knowledgeable in IT. Any IT savvy SI'ers out there?

"Null" is also a term in the heavier body modification scene. It means to nullify sexuality, usually by either full castration or stapling/sewing shut the vagina. There are a variety of ways but those tend to be the mains.
I used to be very involved and/or interested in various kink scenes and this is an extreme one I ran into on several occasions.

Considering your WH's history, Im guessing ^^that^^ is what he is looking for.

Which means he is still up to no good.

Im so sorry.

What exactly do you see in the history? Something like "null - Google Search" with a url of "dubdubdub dawt google.com/#q=null&safe=off" but https://www. in place of my personal tomfoolery there? Or is there something else in the history?

krazy8516 posted 9/4/2013 10:57 AM

he keeps searching the word "null" on different websites.

Do you know what websites? Like Google/Yahoo, or actual sites?

MissMarple posted 9/4/2013 11:16 AM

These are the websites that he searched "null" on. They are all .com.

populace
exoticjourney
modernyouth
bodystrength
roadplan
fuelpit
smartask
moderncommerce
pebble

When I searched "null" on populace in Memphis, addresses and phone numbers came up with these listings:

exotic pleasure
the gentleman's club
eye candy
dream girls
over forty
naughty
diamond in the rough

and more.

We're separated, and this makes me think it is highly likely he is still cheating, even though he loves to talk about how he's going to SA and working the steps.

Not sure what the tie in for that word to strippers, call girls, possibly prostitution is but that's what I saw when I looked it up
