to those who celebrate!

I'm trying to not get in a funk because the kids are both out being grownups living their lives (hence, they aren't home for the holiday) and I always miss them on the holidays.

BUT...I would like to wish all of you a sweet and happy new year.

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

I had a friend post about this and I thought of you. I'll stick to Happy New Year because I don't understand Hebrew. LD didn't teach me that. Just Brooklynese

Shanah Tovah...

Are you making anything special for dinner tonight or tomorrow?

I'm doing a roast tomorrow.

Thank you!

Steak tonight, with asparagus and a salad. Not really special for the holiday, it's just LD's favorite and he hasn't been feeling well so I thought I'd spoil him a little.

Not sure about tomorrow night. (Leftover steak? )

Happy New Year!!

Ok, now you have me hungry!

We do steak salad with leftover steak. Spinach, iceburg, homemade croutons, cheddar cheese, cherry tomatoes, kidney beans, black olives, cucumber, ....AVOCADO!

I go back and forth between honey mustard of buffalo ranch.

That sounds delicious! I'd love it but LD only likes the steak, croutons and cheese out of all those things. He's an impossible eater. Very few veggies.

I think avocados should be added to everything!

Happy Shanah Tovah/New Year to you and LD

You get two new years? AND they're traditionally celebrated with food? We need to hang out .

Yeah! The Jews know how to do it

Don't forget the Jews who do Chrismakkah...

Although, that's not here. Except for the Glitterfest I don't do anything with Christmas.

My pot roast was like buttah!!

And I made a Honey Spice Cake... I'll let you know how it turned out later.

Here's how it looks pre-glaze
