rituals to mark progress - question

We are approaching the six month mark since Dday that we established we would get to before making any big decisions about splitting up or fully recommitting.

It's a few weeks away, but things feel like they are moving in the direction of recommitting. We would like to do something to mark this event - some sort of ritual or private ceremony just for the two of us. Maybe a sort of re-engagement - something that allows us to make a statement to each other that we are in active R and yet we are (actually, it's more accurate to say I am) not yet ready for a full re-wedding. Eventually, if we get there, we will do a recommitment ceremony of some type, probably with our kids and maybe some of our close friends who know. We would have done that anyway at our 25th anniversary so it won't be too strange for those who don't know the whole story, even if we do it slightly off the actual 25th.

We both like the rituals of life changes, and we created our own "baptisms" for our kids, outside of a formal religious tradition - that were meaningful to us.

So my question is, has anyone done something like this? If so, what made it special for you? What didn't work so well? What would you all recommend we be thinking about or considering?

Thanks for your wisdom!

I don't know if you can call it a ritual but my hubby and I each wrote 10 things why we want to stay married or decided to stay married. He wrote his 10 and I wrote mine, no judgement, just acceptance and acknowledgement that we both want R. Then go on vacation or weekend just the two of us, like a mini-honeymoon.
