It's a thing of beauty, though presently needing some TLC in the form of stainless polish. Two ovens....swoon. BTW, the tiling behind the microwave will be replaced before the new microwave gets installed.

tushnurse posted 9/12/2013 09:30 AM

Im not JRC but that is a sweet new oven. Time to practice a Thanksgiving dinner.

What color tile are you putting up? I was playing with the idea of doing my backsplashes, and haven't decided on what I want yet.

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 09:45 AM

I think I'll replace with the same white tile, but installed more skillfully. The former owner did a pee-poor job of it!

Our Canadian Thanksgiving is next month, but I believe we will celebrate at sonny boy's house. I have, however, tried out both ovens and every burner! Yowser. Love it.

drooling over the stove, lynn. Can't tell - gas or electric?

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 09:55 AM

Both, NIK. The burners are all gas, but the ovens can be used as gas or electric.

Edited to add: I just noticed that you can almost see my paint cans to the right of the stove! I'm still finishing up the wall painting.

Beautiful and the clocks aren't flashing 12:00 either. Good job.

So you must have misplace my Thanksgiving invitation, right?

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 10:08 AM

@ MOO. Yeah, that's it!

Or it could be that my head is spinning too much from the flight from Off Topic! Wheeeee!

Impressive. I thought most 'stoves' in Canada were more like ...

FaithFool posted 9/12/2013 11:02 AM

Nice one Lynn!

TR, that's half the size of the woodstove I cooked on in my hippie days up country. They are actually super efficient and have a compartment that heats water for washing.

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 12:13 PM

TR, I grew up with a down-sized version of the one you posted. Heating the house and cooking the meals (including baking the bread) all in one.

Lola2kids posted 9/12/2013 12:14 PM

Hey Lynn!!
I have the same stove but all electric with the ceran top.
Convection oven (only the bottom one.)
The top oven is great for pizzas or warming.

It must be a Canadian model.
I am from T dot too.

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 12:21 PM

Lola, my bottom oven is also electric/gas and convection/regular. My furnace is gas, so it was relatively cheap to convert from an old electric range to gas, which I always wanted.

And I love that the oven can be used for proofing bread and plate warming.

Swoon is right... Oh boy is that nice!!!

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 14:59 PM

I know I showed you the store pics of the stove. I thought you might like to see it in situ. The kitchen is really starting to come together. I'll be glad when it's all finished.

jrc1963 posted 9/12/2013 15:05 PM

Thanks Lynn... I'm glad you showed me.

Even thou I'm totally GREEN with jealousy!!

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 15:08 PM

jrc, I've been wanting to do this since I bought the house 6 years ago. I kept thinking I wouldn't stay there and what point would there be. Finally, I decided even if I don't stay there, upgrading kitchen and bathrooms adds value to the house. That's my justification, anyway! And I got such a summertime sale bargain on the appliances!

I love it Lynn!!

But I have to ask...what's the little hamburger sitting on top of the stove?

lynnm1947 posted 9/12/2013 15:31 PM

Oh, God, DS, I was waiting for someone to notice that--NOT! The S/O dropped and broke my lovely stainless timer. This monstrosity is what he replaced it with!

Deeply Scared posted 9/12/2013 15:31 PM

It's a timer??? CUTE!!!!!! Don't change it...it's adorable

Deeply Scared posted 9/12/2013 15:32 PM

BTW...I love your kitchen!! You've done a great job
