So we're doing active shooter training in our school today and they played a 5 min 911 call from columbine. I couldn't listen. I plugged my ears. Years streamed down my face, my nose is running. There are 1000 ppl here and I am the only one this is happening to. Ppl keep asking me if I'm ok and patting me on the shoulder.

And all I can think is, I can't have any more situations in my life.

I think it sounds very scary to have to deal with that. Yikes. Good luck on the rest of the day.

Better. Exhausted. Def will talk to IC about this Tuesday. Two years ago this wouldn't have bothered me as much.

It bothers me anytime I hear about these shootings. There is a song written about the columbine shooting, one of the girls, everytime I listen to it, the song gets to me.

ETA: Given where you work, it is not surprising this affected you.

(((Rachelc)))

I moved away from the Denver area about 6 months before Columbine. I knew the area it happened in... had been near it many times.

I still get choked up when it's mentioned.

And all school shooting effect me now, especially since I work in a school.

I SOO appreciate everyone's thoughts.

I do not understand why I was the only one who reacted this way.. I'm sorry to hear others here have had this experience but I'm glad I'm not alone!
