I wasn't sure if I should have added this to my other thread. I hope it's ok that I started another one.
Last night was DD7's back to school night. It went much better than my son's night. Do you want to know why? Because my husband wasn't there. My daughter had her first ballet class last night at the same time so we split it up. He took DD7 to dance and I took DS10 to school.
We had a great time! The counselors, teachers, and principal was thrilled to see DS10 again. They flooded him questions. He was very quiet but answered their questions. When we left he said "It was nice seeing my old school again." I got a chuckle out that because they way it came out was like he hadn't been there in years.
He's so funny.
When we arrived we went right to her classroom and met her teacher. She is super nice. I'm so glad she has her. When she was going over her speech you could tell she enjoyed teaching and she said that this class is so well behaved, she loves them. She even had a little "mock" class for the parents and asking us questions and writing down our answers on the board. She asked us what state is the nutmeg state. I was surprised that I was the only one who knew it. I raised my hand and said "Connecticut." I got a gold star
My son even answered a question. I loved it.
When she was talking you couldn't help but smile. She has such a friendly and bubbly personality.
She had the kids right a message to the parents and we were able to write a message back, DS10 even wrote a message to his sister. We walked around the classroom and I took pictures of her "passport to learning" and other things they had up.
It was a fantastic night

That's wonderful! She sounds like a terrific teacher.

She really is. My son was in her class for visitor days when we were transferring him into the school. We were hoping DD7 was going to get her.
