So Fri. I call a client to remind them of an appt. with my boss on Mon. and they said they were going to go somplace else. I update boss and he wants to know why. He said he was going xxxxx instead. So boss is like did he think we weren't professional? Wtf? I am the one who set up the appt. so that implies it's me. This is that woman's job that was eliminated and dumped on me and I've been killing myself to get it done

Since the appointment was with your boss and they changed their minds, I'd think they decided to meet with someone other than your boss. You just made the appointment; they weren't going to meet with you. Don't let your boss sluff off any "blame" onto you - they can be pretty good at that!

My take on this is that your boss had questions he wanted answered regarding their change of mind on the appointment. If this is the case then he needs to call himself to be able to ask the questions or he needs to give you a list of what to ask in such instances to get the info he desires.

It has been my experience when relaying messages as this that the "boss" always wants to know more info than we got, but if we get "more" info the next time, we will be told we went to far, in these kinds of case there is no way to "win", so I just let it all roll off me and move on asap.

Thanks...guess I need to develop thicker skin. He's going to call the person who referred him to see if he knows what happened.
