did you download it? what are your thoughts? I am reading mixed reviews. Not sure if I should free up 2.9GB of memory on my phone to download the update.

Haven't yet.

Wanted to wait until a few days have passed.

Coworker did so this morning without issues but hasn't had a chance yet to go through everything.

I haven't yet. I got my iPhone5 a few weeks ago, so I'm barely used to the current OS.

DD did however. It took a really long time to download (could be because she's gone through her data for the month so had to use wifi). She thinks it's kind of neat but hasn't had much chance to use it yet either.

The download took all night and then she had to go to school.

Mine won't let me download it for space issues. I'm like WTF, why do I have space issues? I shouldn't have to clear off aps to download the damn OS! So I am having a fight with Apple in my head.

You wanted to know all that, right?

yeah I have space issues too - cuz I likes my muzak!

I've seen two different layouts from the update - one good and one not so good.

You wanted to know all that, right?

Actually, I did! I'm having that same fight. LOL

I haven't yet (and I'm a complete Mac person - hence the osxgirl).

Before I do, I have at least one app that I have to make sure will be compatible, or that I can find a replacement for. It was pulled from the app store, so there is no new version.

Aside from that - although I really want to play with the new OS, I will probably only do so on my work devices for now. For my personal devices... probably no update until at least 7.0.1 is out. The first major rev is always buggy, and I've already heard there are some bugs that are planned to be fixed in the 7.0.1 version.

What I've seen online says that 7.0.1 may be out as early as tomorrow. Wait for that at least.

I may even wait for 7.0.2.

I have always read your name as oxsgirl. And I had no idea why you had such a fondness for the ox. But I wasn't going to question it.

Good info though! I will wait for the weekend or so to update. Choosing who to delete first will be hard. Sophie's Choice!

Rebreather, back everything up to the iCloud then restore the factory settings. That will clear up the memory needed - then download the update. Once done, pull everything back from the iCloud - you won't have to lose a thing. That's what I had to do (well I went to the Apple store to have it done ) in order to download the last iOS update.

My household downloaded it last night.

I'm 50/50 on the cutesie button appearance, but I do like the control center and some of the other newer features.

What is frustrating though is that the password for my Apple ID/app store stuff isn't being recognized from my phone anymore. My son (who shares my apple account) is also having the same problem.

Hubby, who has his own itunes account, hasn't played with his phone yet, so I dont know if he is having this problem yet.

Does anyone know of a fix for it?

My apple ID/password isn't the same as my icloud account. Are you mixing your accounts?

(that's all I got!)

Thanks, MissesJai, I will do that.

You're welcome Rebreather and if all else fails - take thee to the Apple store!

That's the first thing I did, lol. It may be too new, but the only things I'm finding that are popping up are password issues from old operating systems that dont quite match my problem.

I'm going to have to wait til this evening when I get home, but I'm going to just reset and try again.

Yeah - I don't always expect people to understand the name... esp. when I'm on sites that aren't tech and in particular aren't Apple tech sites.

Gaby - I took a quick look, and I found a couple of people on one of the Apple forums that sounded like they were having the same problem. Unfortunately, no one had any answers yet.

My recommendation would be what you already plan on doing - a reset. Just make sure you do a reset, and not just a power down. The reset is when you hold down both the power and home buttons, and keep them held down until you see the Apple logo.

After that, if you are still having problems, go into Settings, scroll down to find "iTunes and App Store", and select it.

At that point, you should see your Apple ID. Make sure it's correct. Try signing out (if an account is already signed in) and then signing back in. If all else fails, you should be able to do the "iForgot" from there. If something really screwy has happened, you may end up needing to do that, which will make you put in a new password.

If that doesn't fix it, I'm not sure what else to try. Maybe signing into the store from a desktop/laptop, and then try the iPhone again.

If that doesn't work... you may want to try reloading the OS. If you really need to do it before the update comes out tomorrow, Google DFU mode and find the Apple knowledgebase article that will tell you how to use DFU mode to force a reload of the OS

Of course, if you can wait... just download the update that's supposed to be out tomorrow. If there are any bugs related to the password, there may be a fix in the update.
