I saw a text come in on someones phone that had unusual sender. It was three digits a dash and then three more digits.
It looked something like this:
289-245
Is this some secret text method?
Are there ways for OW or OM to text without their phone number showing?

I get those from businesses. I get them when I sign up for their text coupons.

There probably are ways...though I'm not tech savy enough to tell you what they are.
But regarding the number, I get them from websites if I sign up for something and they want to confirm something. I also get something similar from the mass texts I get from my daighter's hockey team.
Me: 35

I get those from redbox,Walgreens, a reminder for my dogs medicine, lots of coupons and such. I don't believe those are ever from an actual person.

Thanks. I think you are right.
But I my research indicates that there are apps and website that allow sending of anonymous texts.

"...apps and website that allow sending of anonymous texts."
Yes, there are. All you have to do is google and you can find a multitude of websites that allow you to send anonymous texts. If you have a smart phone there are many apps that facilitate it as well and some are free.

I was curious so I went to a couple sites that offer anonymous texts and sent them to WS (he knew). Neither came through :/
