What?  Posted: 1:36 PM, September 25th (Wednesday), 2013View ProfileEdit MessagePrivate MessageHomepage

Last night I dreamt of my dad who passed away almost 5 years ago. I don't normally dream of him but when I do he usually has a 'message' for me. Well he had a doozy of a message for me last night but damned if I can figure it out. He was dressed in a suit (he was a farmer and even owned a a suit) and standing in place pointing at a calendar that read "2014". The calendar was on fire.
Normally I wouldn't put too much stock in this except for 2 things. 1) back in my stupid youth I would routinely play with a Ouija board and the last time that I did it said I would die when I was 45. 2) For the majority of the year 2014 I will be 45 years old. I haven't consciously been thinking about my "Matel" ordained death but maybe the big 4-5 brought back the memory in stealth mode. However, dream-wise I think the burning calendar is significant. Anyone have any experience in dream interpretation?

Maybe the burning calendar was his way of saying not to worry about turning 45 in 2014. The dates were destroyed meaning the day you thought you'd pass is gone and to let go of the fear.

If I remember correctly, fire is a symbol of transformation in dreams. It's usually transformation in a positive way. So maybe next year will be a year of big change for you?

If you've ever read Tarot, you'll know that Transformation is another term for the Death card. This card does not usually mean someone (anyone) will die; it means the death of an idea, a way of life, a relationship, etc. and not always in a bad way. It just means something is going to change. Fire also stands for the Wand cards, which refer to your business life/job.

Did your father want you to go into another line of work?

Thanks for the responses. I like the thought of transformations. The symbolic burning of the past so to speak.

I've been trying and trying to loose the weight that I've put on since my fWH and I started real R. I originally lost 48 lbs in 2 months thanks to the ISD (infidelity starvation diet) unfortunately the way I lost weight has exasperated a thyroid issue and currently my thyroid is kicking my ass. So maybe 2014 is the year that I beat this thing!!

Sad - all my dad ever wanted was for me to be happy.
