New Beginnings :
FF's Fall Update Year 5

It has been a decadent summer. Much sangria consumed, but also many miles ridden, so I'm thinking that cancels out a few of the pounds I've put back on since the oral surgery in April.

I'm using up my last week of vacation, still in staycation mode. Some of the cash I didn't spend on renting a car and stuff is going towards stimulating the local economy.

The weather is still patio-worthy, and the last three days I've been on two of the best in town, with appies and pomegranate prosecco and white grape Cosmos and other pink drinks.

Had a wonderful garlicky evening with friends at a great tapas bar.

Been goofing off bigtime in the evenings with Netflix and more wine.

Handed in my cable box yesterday so now I can justify ordering the new season of Nashville on ITunes.

Got a ticket for John Cleese in mid October. I like to see at least one good comedian and one great rock show a year.

Supposed to start raining tomorrow, so I told myself that this week was patio party time since we don't know when it will come around again....

Back to the books.

Year 5 is turning out quite OK. I'm not dating and have no plans to. Just living life and trying to extract maximum enjoyment.

As my mum always used to say... "There'll be days when we're dead."

Some friends have been on the vacay of a lifetime, posting pics from Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Granada, etc. that are inspiring me for the next trip across the pond. Maybe in a couple of years. It's nice to dream....

The contentment factor relative to five years ago is pretty amazing.

When you're in the thick of it you never think you'll get there, but it just kind of creeps in over time.

I feel very lucky to have it now.
