I attend a pretty staid mainline church, but today the service included a "healing" ceremony for those who are struggling with their faith journey or health or whatever could have healing prayer said with them. I was so NOT going to do it, but I found myself crying (again) in church and decided that was a good indicator of my need for healing. So I went against my "need" for privacy and walked with others to the front of the church for the pastor to lay hands on me. I don't remember what she said after "You are not alone"...because the tears were flowing...and perhaps those words were all I needed to hear...
Feeling lonely is what much of my current pain is about. This was "our" church. WXH and I met in this church when we were in grade school, attending church with him was a really important thing for me, his mother and stepfather still attend this church (and I don't have a relationship with her anymore after the hurt she has caused me)...
Anyway, one of the things I thought about after hearing "you are not alone" was the supportive group I've found here at SI. The feeling of "alone" in the early days was so much more powerful than it is today, and the caring community of SI did so much towards healing that pain for me.
I am not alone. We are not alone...Thank you my dear friends!

I'm glad you're reclaiming your place in the church that you love. The power was calling to you today.
I'm also glad you found SI. I don't make friends easily, and I've made some wonderful friends here.
You are important and you matter. Your feelings matter. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your life matters. Always.
