As we were taking off for Yellowstone 11 days ago, my W mentioned her throat was sore. 3 days later, she lost her voice, developed a horrible cough, a horrible cold, and IBS.
I really want to talk with her, but she can't respond unless she risks killing her voice for still longer.
We like to sleep together, but if she starts the night lying down, she is so uncomfortable she keeps both of us awake.
After a lifetime of allergies, I hate to have a stuffed nose, so I tend to stay far away when we want to be close. (Strangely, she now tests positive for HPV, and I'll risk cancer more readily than I'll risk a cold! Of course, the risks are a lot different....)
Besides her being sick, while we were in Yellowstone, it was either raining or snowing, and based on counsel from the desk people at the (lousy) accommodations, we cut our visit short. I had envisioned myself sitting on a veranda at the lake or Old Faithful or Norris Basin reading one of the many books I had with me. (Real, physical books.)
Spent time in the Badlands, Thermopolis, and at Devil's Tower, though.
On the way back, I took a wrong turn and took a highway with lots and lots of crap on the roadway. A car passed us, kicked up something, and I'm now waiting for my appointments at Safelite to get a new windshield. (The crack is 15" long now.)
I've always liked to vacation at home....
Man, I sure hope we're both feeling good next weekend in MI!
