My son just came home waving a sheet of paper. He had a test on his states and capitals and he NAILED it! He got a 100% I'm so proud of him. We jumped around the living room and said to him "Doesn't this 100% feel good? Remember this! I know you can do this all the time!"

He was so proud he was almost in tears.

YAY!!!!!

That's no small feat for a 10 year old!!!

We've spent the better part of a week during homework time preparing ds for his test on provinces/territories and their capitals. There are way less of those!

He's learning them in French (though half are still the same as the English spelling).

As he was labeling probably the 10th practice map this weekend I literally said to my dd16 "American kids really get the raw end of this deal"

Good Boy!!!

OMG! Meta, that's hilarious!

I remember my 7th grade social studies teacher (I think it was social studies). He loved Canada. Everything he talked about was Canada. The only thing he taught was anything to do with Canada. I know all your Provinces/Territories/Capitals. I even know your national anthem

He's so lucky he gets to learn them in French. I love French. I wish I had paid more attention in highs school. Live and learn...

Good luck to your son with his test.
