I buy a giant bottle of Excedrin at the beginning of every school year. It's the only thing that helps.

When one door closes, another door opens. It's the journey through the hallway that sucks.

Do you get a visual aura before the migraine?

Are you anemic?

I have suffered migraines since my teenage years. They got to be every other day a couple of months ago. I was terrified of OD-ing, so I never took enough meds to control them, just lessen slightly.

Until I started taking super duper iron pills (prescription). I've had only one in two months.

Not having migraines after having them most of my life is heaven on earth.

I was not anemic at my last check up in March.

I've never had a problem with anemia.

My DD22 gets migraines and they incapacitate her and have since high school when she started getting them. After numerous visits to neurologists we discovered two definite migraine triggers - dehydration or lack of sleep (known triggers by neurologists). She now watches to make sure she is drinking enough fluids and does her best with the sleep part. That has reduced them dramatically. When she does get one now she takes a prescription version of Excedrin and has to sleep it off (the meds make her sleepy).

I do! Then they get way scarier (loss of sensation, slurred words, loss of muscle control). I'm honestly envious of those who can "make it work" through a migraine. I'm literally incapacitated when I get them ... I don't even have the muscle control to stay standing (have fallen down and had to crawl to a safe place on a few occasions when I started getting them).

Fortunately I don't get them as often as I used to, and my doctor was able to work with me on a lot of dietary and lifestyle preventative measures, as well as helping me to identify when they're coming on so I can get to a safe place where I can lay down until they pass.

Ama!

When I said I'd made it to work... it was because the migraine had eased into just another garden variety dull headache...

The kind I have every single day of the week, all year long!
