I've posted before how I don't have health insurance any longer ( cant wait for the new healthcare system to take effect) & I'm going to say for the past several months I've been VERY down.. anxiety attacks which irritates my IBS which makes me even more stressed..

Yesterday, one of the 'pages you may like' popped up on Facebook & I usually ignore them but this one was for online counseling & it piqued my interest.. I googled the name & it had great reviews so I posted a profile & was linked with a counselor who actually lives in my city.

Anyone else ever try this? & did you like it?

The first couple sessions are free & I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.. While I like the face to face IC.. this might help until I get health insurance

How is the counseling done? By phone or webcam?

12/18/15 found out my now EX boyfriend was trolling CL for underage girls. From the cops. The fun never stops.

I have done counseling via Skype. It has to be called "coaching" but its basically DBT. I think it works well for me as the WS but not as great for my BS because he needs other modalities of therapy that can't be done via the internet (EMDR for triggers/mind movies).

Profoundly grateful Every. Single. Day. that I am blessed with an H with strength, integrity, and compassion, and that he decided to try.

Well, I take web reviews with a grain of salt, but it's almost a no-lose opportunity. I suspect it's easier to end a web session if it's bad than to walk out on a lousy therapist.

Online counseling is difficult because you lack the human interaction. A good counselor will pay attention to everything. Tone of voice, body posture, movement, the works. Non verbal communication is very important. Online or telephone therapy helps only for so long.

Love yourself. You're worth it. Face your self. You need to do it.

Like I said in my original post.. I do think face to face is the best way to go but thought this would possibly be an okay alternative.. so far all interaction has been via online & I do like the questions she's asked..

we shall see, like I said, initially it's free & I didn't input any personal info (address etc) so if I don't like it, I can end it..

As soon as I get health insurance , I will definitely be booking IC
