Got stood up last time I had a "date" with someone, a few months back..

My boss set me up with a lunch date a week ago, and he was not interested...

This week: Accepted a date and supposed to meet tomorrow.

yes, my cynical jaded glasses are on because I have had ZERO luck in this area....

BUT I'm still willing to keep trying.

edited because for the life of me, I cannot type and leave words out of my sentences..

No matter what happens, I hope you have a good time, clicky.

Jaded glasses are so 20th century. Time to upgrade.

Relax and just enjoy the time.

0 for 2 is definitely not enough to get jaded about!

Go, enjoy yourself, and report back!!!

Yup. Don't worry about whether this is a match or not. Just go and enjoy a nice afternoon/evening.

My IC is always telling me, "just try to ENJOY dating. ENJOY the process."

It is hard for me to, to enjoy dating for dating...but I try.

TrulySad posted 10/18/2013 08:14 AM

When I started dating after being hurt, I learned to go into it hoping to have a good evening, and maybe meet a new friend. It took the pressure off, and we always ended up having fun....even if we never talked again after that.

And NEVER take it personally! You don't just want to find someone who's interested in you. You want to find someone you can't stop thinking about

Hope you have fun, girlie.

What is that have to meet 40 people before you find a contender?

My cousin actually went on a date and said to the guy...."Welp, you are number 38!"

I am not trying to make light of your situation. I know how hard this is. I am at the point of not even really keeping my eyes open for someone. I probably would have to literally trip over a contender to notice him.

ya'll are great.

At this point, the only thing I hope for is not getting stood up.

I just want to get my foot in the door.

my friend says I don't have enough "sexy" outfits and I need to dress better for a date, but I am not going shopping. so, I will try and find something halfway decent.

Well, the date went fine. He was very easy to talk to and we had some good food. The end was kind of awkward because I got the feeling he wasn't that interested. We said our goodbyes and that was that. I could actually see myself being friends with him. AT least I went out and was NOT stood up. In fact, I got the time wrong and was there a half hour early, to which I called him and said I was going to be late and he said but we aren't meeting for another half hour.

Duh click.

Your grey sparkly pants are tres sexy, imho.

click4it posted 10/18/2013 22:31 PM

omg jrazz - I forgot about those pants AND I have no idea where they are. And I put on some weight, sooooo they most likely won't fit now.

Jrazz posted 10/18/2013 22:31 PM

Cross post!

I say you're 1-2 now. What did you think about him? (apart from his detachment for whatever dumb reason because you're awesome)

click4it posted 10/18/2013 22:38 PM

I like that he was very easy to talk to and seemed pretty down to earth.

I DON'T like that he is in the middle of getting he divorced finalized, even though he says he's been separated for two years....AND he's got three young kids 10, 8, & 5. I'm not opposed to kids as I've got my own, BUT, mine are grown now and IF there was a possibility with someone in my future with kids, ideally i'd like them to be teens already like mine or older. Its not a deal breaker, but its something I've thought about.

I thought he was pretty cute, not overly cute though, and it might sound like i'm putting myself down, but I don't think I was his type because of my weight. These are just my assumptions, as I don't really know what he thought, but if I don't hear anything from him by tonight or tomorrow, I'll know he was not interested. Most guys, if they are interested in a second date, will immediately text to say they had a good time and thank you. He hasn't done that.
