My DD has been in a new preschool for just over a month...she will only be there until September and then she will go to kindergarten.

Since she has been born she has always gone to work with me...I worked as a nanny for a while and then at a preschool where she also went in another class. So needless to say I am having a hard time adjusting to not having her with me all day so it's possible I am overreacting....

She goes to preschool three days a week...I love the school and the teachers....but I don't love how my DD is such a mess when we pick her up....sometimes it's dirt, sometimes it's lunch or snack.

I understand that teachers have a lot to do and get busy during the day, but how hard is it to wash my child's face??

I don't know if it's worth bringing it up with her teachers or not.....I don't want to be an obnoxious parent, but also would like my DD to have a clean face at the end of the day.

How old is your DD?

How many kids are in her class?

Kids get messy... it's what kids do. A little dirt or food on her face or clothes won't kill her or make you any less of a parent.

If she's happy, healthy and having fun at preschool I don't really think you have anything to worry about.

If she's getting sick, has diaper rash or is getting hurt a lot (not normal bumps and bruises) then I'd worry.

My DD is the same age and going to Kindergarten next fall as well, and although I feel much the same (especially when she has marker all over her dress) I chalk it up to having a super busy and fun day at school. And although I would much rather have her by my side all day every day, she is much better served playing, learning and getting dirty.

Edited to add--it still does drive me nuts because she is such a mess! But I am glad they are more focused on her education than cleanliness!

Silly iPhone and early posting!

I know....I agree that its a good sign she is dirty cuz it means she had fun. ...but would just like her face wiped!! Its so frustrating
