For the last couple of months, my female cat has been peeing on the carpets. I wasn't sure at first if it was because she is just getting old or what the problem was. (she's not sick- vet was the first stop) But it was happening on a near daily basis and it was making me crazy. Only 2 rooms in my apartment have carpet- the office and the bedroom. Everything else is laminate. I started locking the office door at night, but there was no way I could lock 2 cats out of my bedroom at night. I know they will just pitch a fit.
Anyway, last week someone suggested putting a plate of food down on the problem areas, because cats won't pee where they eat. I put a food dish in the bedroom in one of the bad spots and nobody has peed in there in over a week! WOO!
Of course now I do have an extra food dish to fill, LOL, but I think it's a small price to pay.
12/18/15 found out my now EX boyfriend was trolling CL for underage girls. From the cops. The fun never stops.

What has worked for me in the past was putting catnip in the litterbox.

OK I have cats nearly my entire life, and have never heard of either of these two things. The food thing makes sense though. Good to know.
