So my co-worker is playing match maker with me. She keeps bringing up this and that guy that is single and would I want to meet them, etc. So she brought up this one guy and said he had a great personality and was really funny but then said, "Nah, he is nothing to look at. He's short, chubby, balding, etc." My EXH is very good looking. 6 ft.1, lean, very easy on the eyes. But, in the end, what the hell did it matter. He's a nasty fucking human being. So I told her that I'd like to meet him.
So she set up a lunch date on Friday during our lunch hour at work. She knows he's interested in dating but she decided not to tell him that this was a set-up of sorts because she didn't want anything awkward if I was not interested. So he thinks he is having lunch with his friend (co-worker) and her friend (me). When it's actually an opportunity for me to meet him and size him up. lol
The only thing that concerns me about him is that he is divorced and he sought out the divorce....idk, just makes me feel triggery. Oh, and he has no kids and I have two small ones. But hey, even a friendship would be nice at this point. :)
Do you know WHY the divorce was initiated? It could be for a million reasons.
Yes, there could be a million different reasons. And it could be a very legitimate reason. I'm just really gun shy. Go figure.
go, enjoy, don't have expectations, have fun.
I hope he turns out to be worth a second date :)
things that happen in my life do not define who I am. I get to choose to be the best I can be, for me. cause I'm worth it.

The one lesson I've learned is that this revelation causes me to be much more open with regard to physical attraction and that has been a good thing.
So give him a chance. If he fails the test in other ways - fine. At least you opened yourself up to the possibility.

Seriously, I don't know how to handle it.
Go and enjoy. It's not the entire future. It's just lunch.
