We're nearing the end of the ten days and have yet to hear anything. It's scaring the crap out of us and we could really use some more mojo, if you have any to spare.

No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.

We were totally floored by this. One of the guys he interviewed with just didn't quite connect with him. I did some checking on him today and, WOW!, what I found set our minds at ease. Basically, he lied about his background and there are numerous posts online about what a dbag and dhead he is!!! That's from customers and employees, alike!!
Dark cloud, silver lining. H dodged a bullet. That guy would have run him into the ground in no time flat. Now, we "just" wait until this guy shows his true colors- and he will. Then, we'll try again.

I know this guy will show his true colors in no time flat- and it WILL show up in that company. Waywardson just sent a Thank You to the HR person he was dealing with and told her to keep him in mind for future openings. I mean, they were talking about fast-tracking him and corporate positions before this guy came into the picture!
And, he named H's co-managers in the interview, so that made us a bit uncomfortable because H didn't want his current job to know he's looking, but this guy happens to live in the town where H's job is, so he's probably already tipped the others off.
Years back, Waywardson had the misfortune of having an Owner who put his trust in a psychopath and put him in the GM position over him. At the meeting where the owner announced this guy was coming in, one of the other managers said he was a snake, a psychopath, and she would NOT work with him. She took off immediately and I wish Waywardson had followed suit. Anyway, THAT guy was the nastiest person I've ever known and EVEN HE doesn't have negative comments about him all over the internet like THIS guy!! Waywardson definitely dodged a bullet this time!! This way, the guy cut him out at the beginning, so he still has a chance with the company at a later date. If he had gotten in now, this guy would have done all of the typical undermining, character assassination, etc. that is so common for NPDs, and he would have destroyed H's reputation with the company.
I'm actually relieved, now! It's so strange how you can go through such a tremendous range of emotions in ONE DAY!!
