Update: I got it! Picture, as promised, on page 2.

I figure this is more of a fun topic than an Off Topic, although it is a serious question.

I bought a tiny Santa hat off eBay that I want to put on one of my cats and then take a picture of her in it for my Christmas card.

(Yes, all right, YES, I am *that woman* who is such a crazy cat lady that she wants to put a Santa hat on a pet. Yes.)

So, anyone ever have luck doing this with a cat? It should arrive in the mail by Tuesday; I'm thinking I should try to put it on her early and often to get her used to it before the picture.

Anyone willing to answer, who doesn't think I'm totally insane?

ETA: If it works out, the caption is totally going to be Santa Claws Is Coming to Town.

Maybe slip it on when the cat is sleeping?

Have you ever seen a ticked off Betsy Ross? I have. One of my sisters dresses up her cat (who is not amused).

I think it depends on the cat I have a little black cat that if I tried to put a hat on well it wouldn't be pretty she would kill me BUT I have a gorgeous all white ragdoll male cat that I put reindeer antlers on for pictures and he was fine about it

Ok, in all seriousness...

Get a second set of hands. One person places the hat, the other quickly snaps pictures. Rinse and repeat until you get a usable shot.

Plan B: get a great picture of your hat and Photoshop the hat in place.

This is hysterical. I love it.

I have thought about pics of my greys on a holiday card with the inscription, 'Have a grey-t holiday season!' but my family mocks me so I've never done it.

You have inspired me .

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

I have an evil one eyed, one eared cat that is Satan in a fur coat. I got a free wizard hat for him one year at Pet Food Center and managed to get it on him and get his pic taken by having someone else hold him while I snapped as quickly as I could. It's an awesome pic!

Do it, AN!!!

hb, you could try to put it on the cat while the cat is asleep, then wake the cat a LITTLE and try to get a pic. Other than that, photoshop is probably your best option.

I love all the suggestions. I was thinking Photoshop at first, but I don't know how to use it.

AN---do it! If mine turns out, I will post a pic here. You should too.

And believe me---everyone mocks me too. Believe me.

I should hurry up if I want to do it for Hanukkah since Hanukkah is on Thanksgiving this year .

But maybe I'll just do it between Hanukkah and Christmas for a Season's Greetings type of thing.

This is my beloved Kraken. I can't take credit for dressing her, it was a 3 person mission to outfit her to match her nickname and I was not involved.
