In a session with DD and her two therapists this afternoon, we played a new board game that included a deck of cards with instructions for acting out specific scenarios as a way to get kids to express themselves. DD drew a card instructing her to demonstrate what she'll sound like when she's 50.

DD's first attempt included a shaky grandma voice asking for help crossing the street. I mentioned to her that 50 isn't THAT old, "Honey, I'm almost 50. Do I sound like that?"

Without skipping a beat, she said, "No - you sound like this." Then she stood up, put her hand on her hip, shook her finger at me, and said, "You dang kids get off my lawn!"

Rotten kid.

Nailed it.

Your other sister Vrazz brought me my makeup bag this morning. I was running late so I said, "No thanks baby, I don't need that right now."

She paused, still holding it up, looked confused, and said, "Maybe you should just try it, mama. To look pretty to take me to school.... please."
