Does anybody read the books? I've seen the show, and it's ok, but the books are SO MUCH better. They are darker, though. Very blood and gore graphic.
I also noticed that on the show Jane and Maura are the BFFs who hang out at each other houses drinking wine and dishing about their sex lives, but in the books they are work friends and not so...girly? I guess. I also think their personal lives are more interesting in the books.
Thoughts?

I haven't read the books, but do watch the show.
I feel I would be disappointed by the books now that you have explained that in the books they aren't BFF's and that they aren't so.....girly.
That is what I love about the show. The interactions, the BFF's, the girlyness of Maura trying to convert Jane over from her tomboyishness.
However, in general, I find that is true about most books. They are almost always better than any tv show or movie.

I enjoy both the books and the shows, but, like so many other things that are adapted in this way, there is very little relationship between the two...
