Also try the " email my texts " app. It can do all of them at once

I use SMS Backup. It backs up the texts and you can set it to automatically email them as they come in. The backup can be opened up on your computer so I have an ongoing spreadsheet with XPOS's texts in addition to the email backups. That is in addition to taking screen shots of the really important ones.

I had trouble at first, so just as a tip--

You create a backup of your phone "to this computer."

Then you are retrieving the texts from your backup file, not your phone.

I got to downloading the file and had it there, but it gave hieroglyphics looking crap when I opened the file. I tried on a different computer and it worked perfectly. The problem was my extremely outdated version of Excel, so you may want to check your version if you have any trouble.

I didn't know there was a way to do this. I had the guy at AT&T and he said I you just have to take screen shots. Thanks for asking this. I'm going to check SMS app out.

Glad it helped you Lost.

I played with the app last night. There is a PDF instruction file I downloaded it helps.I got the texts in EML format Im not sure that is the right one for me.Ill keep messing with it.

Judge granted me a restraining order yesterday and I have two weeks to get my ducks in a row and go back to court to continue the order what I got yesterday is only temporary. Now Im just waiting for the backlash.

If you are using an iphone, just capture a screen shot and it will automatically be stored with your other images.

When the text you want is on the screen, hold down the on/off button and the round button on the bottom middle. You will hear a shutter click.

Then you can email/print the image.

If you want to get a bit more technical, you can download an app called "photo to PDF." This will convert your images to PDF documents, making them easier (and smaller) to email and print.

Hope this helps.

If you google sms export, they have a video that walks you through all the steps.. I found it to be very simple..

No matter what, I recommend keeping the texts on your phone as well. You could always change a different number to your exes name and take a screenshot, and with the other programs, it's possible to edit to change what is said. I've paid for extra storage in my iPhone just to save the thousands of texts. The programs make them easy to print out and show someone, but you still want the solid proof saved in your phone..

It's amazing how many mistakes my dummy ex has made with his texts and emails to me. Saving this info helped me wipe the floor with him in court last week.. And.. He still hasn't learned.. Just because he erases them doesn't mean I do..

I could not find a format I liked with sms export so I went back to doing screenshots.

I understand--it is tedious. But it is how I did it and am doing it. I am well over three-hundred texts right now...

i got the sms and coversation uploader. neither workded. the latter one just brought me to explorer and my screen kept flashing and locked up. tried 3 times and had to shut down puter 3 times.

the sms, copied messages BUT there are texts for several people all mixed in with others. so its VERY confusing and not info I can print off. its sorta in a list with time and just the persons name. no number. so Im not sure how that would even look legit. i dont have a nice name on there for my ex either :)

so i gave up for now. it was ticking me off. I even had 2 guys walk me thru it
