I booked a trip for me and the kids to visit NYC, along with a few other friends, for a couple of days starting the day after Christmas. I've been to the city during the holidays, but that was 20 years back when kids weren't even a thought in my head.
I know we want to see the tree, the Macy's windows, the FAO and Toys r us stores. What else is a must see that is kid friendly??? All suggestions are welcome!

As a lifelong NY'er there so much else to see. There is Rockefeller Center and Bryant park. Stroll along 5th Ave and look at all the store windows. Lord & Taylor does a fine display. The Manhattan Mall is right around the corner from Macy's and does it up for the holidays. Dylans candy bar on 3rd Ave and 60th St is a kids dream. Take a subway ride downtown and visit the WTC memorial and new freedom tower. If your looking to shop while downtown Century 21 is a large designer discount store right across the street from the WTC. A short walk down Broadway to the Staten Island ferry terminal and take a ride on the Ferry. Great views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan Island and its free. Keep an eye on your bag and valuables as NYC is still loaded with pickpockets. Watch out for con men who prey on the tourists. Don't be afraid to make a scene if you feel threatened or pressured. A loud mouth in NYC goes a long way with assholes. And trust me your not gonna get a designer handbag for $50.00. But if that's your scene they do have some good knock offs LOL. Just don't pay until the bag is in your hands. I could go on and on. NYC is great anytime, but the holiday displays are special. Have fun.
