Exciting day.

I found out that the beautiful little classical guitar I want for my 60th year present is one of only EIGHT in the world.

Two of them are black, that was the one I wanted because they are dead sexy, but no.... because they were custom ordered for Sting and his rock star guitar player (a.k.a. my new 'boyfriend' LOL) and they only made those two in that colour.

The other six are blonde wood and there are only two left for sale.

Thanks to the x's music biz connections I was able to go through said rock star's tech, who asked him to investigate how to go about sourcing one for me.

The wholesale price is ridiculously low for such an amazing instrument.

So tomorrow I may get the contact info so I can get my order in.

If I get it, I'LL BE THE ONLY WOMAN ON THE PLANET TO OWN ONE. (yes, excuse me, I'm yelling... )

FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!

Somehow I pictured you a bit different. Less jovial.

Congrats though! I remember many years ago when I got my Seagull. Wish I would of kept playing - it just sits in the closet now.

Go for it. Hope you get exactly what you want. I have a 1962 Gibson 12-string acoustic. Holding and strumming that guitar has comforted me for over 16 years.

That sounds like a beauty.

I was blessed with luthier friends in my 20s, so I have two beautiful one-of-a-kinds already, but this will be the first classical I've owned since I started out.

I wanted a special instrument to get inspired again, as the last few years have taken a toll on my creativity.

Think this one might just fit the bill. Plus I think it's a good investment. These kinds of guitars tend to appreciate over time.

Plus I deserve it.

When I've taught beginners, I always recommend they start with a classical guitar due to the fact that nylon strings are easier on the fingers than metal strings.

I wanted a special instrument to get inspired again, as the last few years have taken a toll on my creativity.

I lost interest in music for a few years and had to force myself to start playing again. Didn't lose the ability to play, just the desire. Since then I've never missed a day with the guitar. Lesson learned.

I'm hoping this will take my playing in a whole new direction, actually learning some pieces.

I have written my own songs for years, have perfect pitch and can memorize stuff, but I don't read, and learning from tabs has always been a huge challenge.

I found some great stuff on the web, with graphic tabs that you can slow down, and the music track playing along so you can know that you're playing it right.

Looking forward to laying some new wrinkles on the old grey matter LOL.

Been emailing back and forth for a couple of days now.

Found out they make the one that originally caught my eye. It's not as 'rare', but also half the price and it's a steel string, which is more suited to my style.

Gorgeous little thing.

Stay tuned.
