I live in SW Ontario and we got our first blast of winter snow last night...I could not get the back door open because the snow is up to the railing on my back deck....SO has dug out a path across the deck, but I can't see my van or his big Ford truck...lol...they are both buried!!
Thank God for great neighbours with snowblowers! My wonderful neighbour came and used his snowblower to get a path cleared out of the driveway...now we just have to "find" (dig out) the vehicles.....
Oh well, I don't have to go anywhere until tomorrow morning at 0630 hrs for work....I think it will take me that long to get dug out the rest of the way....lol....

1200 miles or so away from you but getting same weather here! By the way, I love SW Ontario and visit often. LOVE being there around the holidays and seeing your beautiful Hallmark villages! Stay warm!

Thank you...it has taken most of the day to get the driveway and parking areas cleaned right out with a variety of methods....SO started with the shovel, my neighbour brought over the snowblower and moved another bunch, the neighbour I share the parking area with (shared driveway) got out his snowblower and did a pile, and finally my landlord came over with his big truck with the plow on the front and pushed it all way back out of the way....
It took a long time to "find" my van, but it is cleared off, scraped and ready for heading to work in the morning....
SO and I went out to pick up the stuff we needed for lunches etc and the roads are still a big mess! The Walmart parking lot was half plowed, most roads have 1 1/2 lanes for traffic to travel in both directions, and the snow banks are very high making it difficult to see at stoplights/corners. If I wasn't a nurse and had to go into work in the morning I would stay home and not risk going out....but we never close....lol...
Thank God for good neighbours, friends, and family....don't know what I would have done without them...probably still be digging....
Oh well, I put a nice lasagna in the oven and it should be ready in about half an hour...a nice supper, a little tv and off to bed....no more shovelling for today!!!

PS I have never been able to post pictures or I would.....sorry

My first time to see your pretty snow -- especially falling on the pines ... was on the 401 from the Kitchener area down to London and I was amazed at the way the roads were still good! Here in the south we get paralyzed! I love your area in the winter but would have to watch it from inside, I think ... through a window.
