I'm not implying that people here should hook up, but I was wondering if there's anyone who met their current spouse or boyfriend/galfriend from SI? After all, the people here are the most wonderful.

I have not met an SO from this site, but I'm very lucky to have met two fantastic female members IRL. They are funny, strong, and extremely supportive. We've gotten together a few times and I always feel better after - I know that I'm truly not alone and that there are good people out there who really get it and always will.
I would never advocate that this site be used as a way to try to meet another BS as a potential SO, but I would strongly recommend lurking down in the Fun & Games forum to see if there are any upcoming get togethers in your area. Finding other people who have this in common is very helpful. When you're other friends and family can't stand to talk about it anymore, you always have someone with whom to share.

IIRC, that kind of thing is not allowed, or at least strongly discouraged.

There are people who get together as a couple after meeting on SI. Most of them crash and burn, spectacularly. Enough so that it is against the guidelines now, and bringing it to the boards can, and does, get members banned. The mods don't need any more headaches, kwim?
Otoh, there are tons of us who have met IRL, at SI-specific get togethers. Information about those get posted down in Fun & Games. Be forewarned though, get togethers are open to any SIer. That means WS are welcome too. Get togethers, or G2Gs as we usually refer to them, are a lot of fun.

Guideline #12 outlines the site policy pretty well.

Never explored the fun and games section. Will definitely check it out. I think it's great that some SIer have met in real life.

I have met some of my best friends here on SI.
You are important and you matter. Your feelings matter. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Your life matters. Always.
