Who's watching?

OMG - great show.

Confession time: Wasn't a James Spader fan during his stint with 80's rat pack movies. Drove me nuts actually.

Then he showed up on Boston Legal.

Awesome.

Now, I'm even more in lurve with him. And the show.

Not many shows actually capture my attention for the full hour. This one does for sure, though I'll admit I sometimes have to revisit episodes to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Anyone else a fan?

Exactly. Boston Legal was definitely a turning point in our relationship.

The show is great, and so is he.

Yeppers.

I used to be somewhat jealous of his and Shatner's drinks and cigar moments on the veranda at the end of every episode. Seriously - like "Damn, me and the H should be doing this!" kind of thinking.

He is just amazing as Red. And unless I'm missing a few brain cells (which could be argued to the affirmative - how's THAT for a BL reference? ) - he's totally Lizzie's bio-dad.

Great show. I love how Spader plays very ambiguous characters in much of his recent work. They sometimes do wretched things, but somehow, you're rooting for them because they have some sort of redeeming quality, or they take advantage of a corrupted system and get real justice. I think he's excellent at portraying realistic and complicated characters, so it's nice to tune into him again every week!

We were quickly addicted. And yes, I will be so surprised if he isn't her father. It's just staring everyone right in the face!!

I really remember him from 'sex, lies and videotape.' That still sticks in my mind. Never got into Boston Legal.

I have been in love with James Spader since he was in Secretary. The man is so hot. I love the bizarre "sexy Hannibal Lecter" thing he's got going on as Reddington. I am absolutely HOOKED on the blacklist. OMG this week's epidsode was insane!!!

12/18/15 found out my now EX boyfriend was trolling CL for underage girls. From the cops. The fun never stops.

Yep, hooked on it. I've been telling my wife and my pastor that although we for some reason already like the very bad man that Red is, that by the end of the season they will tell his story and we will feel justified in the stance he's taken.

Like why exactly did he turn his back on the government.

I think I've got it figured out. When he told the cleaner the story of the farmer who lost everything and the monster the farmer became, I believe Red was talking about himself. The picture of the woman he took at the end of that episode was a picture of his wife, and Lizzie's mother.

The house he bought and destroyed, the house where his wife was killed and his daughter almost.

He became the monster, turned his back on his country to get the man behind it, the nemesis we heard referenced, the man Red has been carefully establishing his own underworld identity to be able to get to. And this person will be someone within the government of course.

He has established all these contacts, become this seemingly evil man, to avenge his wife's death, and reclaim what has been taken from him.

And there is seemingly a goodness of sorts to him, did you catch it in the episode about the sex trafficker lady that his bodyguard, his name escapes me, had the same branding as those that were child sex slaves. Red got him out of that world I think.

Oh, YES, Tom is up to no good.

I'm just wondering if somehow he doesn't loop back to Red in some crazy way...remember the scene outdoors at the hospital where Lizzie's adopted (?) father passed away (errr...I mean mercy murdered (?) by Red) when he and Tom took up a chat?

I have the sneaky feeling that Red "knows" him.

Oh yes, I think that at some point this year, Red and Tom are going to have a Come To Jesus Moment that is going to be EPIC! We love Blacklist so much that we actually cancelled the TIVO for another show that we've watched for some time!

This year has been a good one for us, TV wise. We also added Sleepy Hollow to our must-watch list.
