I had the car all packed yesterday and right after school, picked up Teslet and trekked out to my folks' place. Tonight we pick up my little sister whom I have not seen since she went into basic training 6 months ago.

Tomorrow Teslet and I are baking pies. Can't wait to watch football and have dinner. Dad surprised us with Disney on ice tickets for Thanksgiving evening. Then mom and I are heading out to do the Black Friday thing.

The weekend will be leftovers and recovery.

Oh and somebody turns 5 on Sunday...so there will be a little celebration before we head back home.

Going to the local watering hole's "Fest Before the Feast" happy hour tonight.

Staying with friends tonight and a bunch of us will be back at the "establishment" tomorrow - hard time using bar in the same sentence as Thanksgiving - for their wonderful family style sit down turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Working Friday and then will coast into a weekend filled with football, football and more football.

Last Bucky game until Bowl Season.

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Writing a paper worth 20% of my grade for a Masters class Why make that due two days after Thanksgiving??

Getting up early with the kiddos and driving to my Mom's, hope to be there in time for the parade. Eating a quick meal, back home, then kids to their Dad's this weekend while I finish this paper and start the final project for another class due on Wednesday. Going to be a crazy few days.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Happy birthday to teslet!

Here I'm going to my uncle's house for Thanksgiving. I took today off, so I'm cleaning and lounging, and working Friday.

What? Teslet is turning 5??? Holy cats.

Thanksgiving for me will be a turkey sandwich, some peace and solitude (much needed at this point), and potentially a Netflix movie or two.

I have the kids this year, so I am making all the fixins, and instead of a turkey I bought cornish game hens, so I can surprise the kids with "personal size" chickens A friend from school will be joining us so that will make it more festive. He wants to help cook so we will have fun, my girls are already plotting "decorations" so that will keep them busy too. I love Thanksgiving!

I'm sleeping in, making a gingerbread house while I watch the local parade on TV (in my warm living room!), putting up my Christmas tree and then making tequila infused queso fundido to take to my friend's house for and evening dinner (she's hosting a tequila thanksgiving so all the food has to incorporate tequila).

Do'n my best to remember that I am the only one in control of my happiness. Reminding kids of that too.

So I'm going to be cook'n for parents, grandparents, and my kids and I for an evening meal cause I told them I'm still going to help out at a local church in morning cook'n, clean'n, and serve'n thanksgiving meals.

thanksgiving and Christmas are tough. I find it best to do things for others and stay so busy that I really don't know wth I'm do'n.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Remember to smile and make a memory for yourself or for someone else. Oh, and make it a good memory.

It's my first NB Thanksgiving and thankful I have my kids. Was trying to make it easy on myself by ordering dinner. Picked it up from Fresh Market today and realized the turkey is not cooked! ACK! Never cooked a turkey before but I got Barefoot Contessa helping me out, so I expect it will be delish! We'll watch Macy's parade (made baked french toast for breakfast), catch an early afternoon movie, and then have dinner.

Plans for a games and movies at home together on Friday, tween heads to a college football game with his dad on Saturday while daughter and I will do something girly until the game comes on. Then after church and teaching 4 year old Sunday School, I'll spend the afternoon with former work friends.

Grateful to have a relatively busy yet low stress holiday weekend planned for my first major holiday as a single.

It's easier than you think! Just don't forget to put a thermometer in the thickest part to gauge the correct temp and let the turkey sit awhile before slicing. I did it for the first time after my XH left too and wasn't as hard as I thought.

I get the kids for Thanksgiving every year, so I have been super excited for it to arrive!

We started our holiday out right by having breakfast for dinner tonight (one of our favorites) and then heading out to see Frozen. It was very cute-- it's about a princess and a queen, so DD enjoyed it, but there was enough adventure and silly stuff that my boys liked it as well.

Tomorrow, we're going to relax and hang out while I bake the pumpkin pies. My dad finally handed the tradition down to me this year, so I'm looking forward to it. After lunch, I think we're going to go sledding, and then it's off to my parents' house for the big family dinner.

Friday is hang out with Grandma and Grandpa-- no Black Friday shopping for me; I can't stand crowds and having to circle parking lots for spaces, so we'll just do a whole lot of nothing while we eat leftovers!

Saturday is my birthday; we don't have any special celebration planned, but we will attend my hometown's yearly Christmas parade with my family, and then we'll pick out the Christmas tree. The kids and I will go home and spend the afternoon decorating, and then we're going to get some take out for dinner because the one thing I don't do on my birthday is cook!

Sunday will be the usual routine: chores, grocery shopping, grading, etc.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

ETA: Happy birthday, Teslet! Looks like this is a good weekend to be born!

This is my absolute favorite weekend of the year. Tomorrow I'm going to get up early, go to my Grandma's house and help her cook. Then I get to eat! Friday morning, my Dad, my brother and I will load up their Jeeps onto trailers and drive to the dunes for the weekend. My Dad has been going out there since 1974 and my brother and I have been going since we were old enough that our Mom would let us go. We look forward to it all year. Should be awesome!

. My daughter came home tonight and is out with friends now, my son will be coming home on Friday. Our Thanksgiving dinner will be on Saturday since My sister and her two kids will be here that day(they live in Denver and are here in my state but at her in laws on Thursday and Friday). I'm doing the cooking, but bringing it over to my parents' since this will be the last Thanksgiving in my childhood home. They recently bought a condominium in the senior living complex...and will be moving sometime in the next month or so...

Haven't had the whole family together in a number of years so this will be wonderful!

Tomorrow it will be red lentil soup for supper with my daughter and parents...much easier than the meal on Saturday!

Happy birthday to Teslet and tryingagain!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Birthday Teslet and tryingagain!

This year I am without kids but I am going to meet some more of GF's family. The nerves haven't kicked in yet but they will. I made a pumpkin pie last night to bring with me but I messed up on one of the ingredients so I am super nervous that nobody is going to like it. I just tried the other one and it tastes pretty decent so maybe it'll be OK.

Tomorrow my oldest DS turns 21.

Sunday another DS turns 14

Saturday GF and I bet against her sister and STB-BIL on the Auburn Alabama game. Loser cooks dinner. Gonna be a fun day!

Thank you, miadianna, for the encouragement. I was in a panic researching how to cook this huge bird! Finally found my meat thermometer so I think I am set.

Happy birthday, Teslet and trying again!

Hey gahurts! Who'd you pick for the game? AU grad here so you know I'll be yelling WAR EAGLE! (Kicking myself for not requesting half the season tickets in the divorce, especially since my teen will be a freshman there next year.)
