You guys were right when you said not to believe what XWH wrote in his lecture to me-- how he and the Owife had spoken to the counselor and his parents and that they all agreed that I was attempting to turn the kids against him.

Huh. I guess that's why my XILs sent me a generous gift and a lovely note for my birthday, huh? Because I'm a venomous, awful witch who is trying desperately to hurt their son, they thought they'd show me by kindly wishing me a happy birthday!

I haven't met with the counselor yet since her schedule is really packed this month, but let's just say I'm far less anxious about it. I am not going to believe anything he ever intimates to me again. I'm not sure why I would considering that he has proven himself a liar time and again, but hopefully, this latest example will solidify that lesson in my mind.

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was wonderful-- I had the kids the whole time, and we were surrounded by my loving family. I am so grateful for all of them, and even though my XWH likely doesn't realize it, he has no idea what he's lost, and I feel sorry for him. I also hope that he brought home any Thanksgiving leftovers in multiple Ziploc bags so that he can repurpose them for future use.

I remember many of us saying that they did not believe his story. And, as you pointed out at the time, if there were an issue the counsellor would have contacted you.

I wonder if he just wanted to send out a little poison pill before the holidays precisely to try to sour the nice time you had?

All in all, an example of why NC works: it would have given him the reaction he wanted.

I can't look at a ziploc bag now without thinking of some crazed fool hunched over his keyboard.......

I may or may not have taken a picture of a ziploc bag and posted it to tryingagain74's FB page

I think it's really nice that your IL's thought of you on your bday. I'm thinking if they thought you were so horrible, they wouldn't have bothered.

I can't wait until you get confirmation from the counselor that no such conversation took place.

Marriages that start this way, stepping over the bodies of loved ones as the giddy couple walks down the aisle, are not likely to last.
