Been living in the greater Orlando area for the past 15 years...
I'll try to answer any questions as best I can...
We have two airports to choose from, so it depends on which airline he wants to fly most frequently...
I don't see any reason you couldn't find the size house you're looking for in a good neighborhood for a decent price.
If you're coming from Southern California, you'll probably find your housing dollars going a lot farther here.
Do you have kids who will be in school? It makes a big difference where you live.
Will you be looking for work yourself?
What are your hobbies?
Feel free to PM me your answers... and all other questions. I'm happy to help.
ETA: Oh... I just noticed you're in South Carolina... SOCO fooled me!

I live in Deltona north of Orlando. If I could afford to move it would be the Lake Nona area. Beautiful, peaceful, close to airport and Disney, good schools. It is an area that should have great resale value because of the new children's hospital. Tons of new home developments.
