I was looking up to see if exs warrant was still active or changed yet. i looked under my name and i have a court date for something different. i was never served papers of going to court. i have court Monday. nothing in my mail about it wtf? I've.called around to find out what it is about and.found out.nothing. I'm going to the court date so i don't.get a.warrant. but i have no outstanding tickets.so i am wondering

What kind of court? Did you call the clerk of that court? The docket gave no info?

I got the papers in the mail today. i researched the account it. was from when x and i were together. i know i paid it off. so my guess is x used the account since.he had access to it and bought stuff and didn't pay for it. i haven't seen a bill for this company since 2009

At least you figured out what it was about. That's the first step. I hope it all works out ok tomorrow.

I went to court and i am contesting it. i figured it was best. that way maybe i can work on trying to settle with the company for less or at least work on a payment plan

How was this debt discharged in the divorce? You should probably see if it was addressed in your divorce (I am thinking not--which is yet another reason to get a very good attorney to make sure everything is covered).

If it was covered in the divorce, how was it addressed? That should be your guideline in how you address it now. Who ran up the charges? If it is your ex and the issue WAS addressed in court, then you could go back to court to settle it.

Either way, if he has access to the account and is using, you need to close it pronto.
