New Beginnings :
New Home Mojo...Please?

Popping in this morning for a bit of good ol' SI peep Mojo.

At the start of November I came to the conclusion that I could not spend another holiday season in the marital home. I was not going to leave until January 2015, but being here is not promoting a healthy start to my new beginning. The memories are crippling.

So, I have been house hunting, well, more like villa/condo/townhouse hunting. At this stage of my life, with my youngest child heading off to college in the fall of 2014, I have determined that I want something low maintenance but with enough space for my children to come for visits.

I have decided to stay here in the midwest instead of heading back to the northeast for many reasons; 1. it is central to where all 4 of my children may end up living, 2. I've been here 11 years now and have a wonderful friend base, 3. cost of living etc...

Anyhoo...I believe I have found the perfect place. I am scheduled to sign a contract, to begin building, tomorrow morning. I count my blessing everyday for being in a financial position to go this route. I do not take anything for granted anymore in my life.

So...MOJO...please??

Sending you all the MOJO I can this morning.

I actually think you are making a huge mistake! You should locate further south to the pleasant little town of Paducah, Kentucky!

Happy for you Macakipa. Onward and upward my dear friend..

So excited!

Also, we still have to try to meet when you visit your child at school in my hometown! I was on campus a few weeks back for a movie and thought of you.

Can't wait to see a happy response from you on this thread :)

Thank you all and please keep that MOJO coming!

The lot I want has a contingency buyer. I signed a firm contract for the lot yesterday. The other buyer has until 11:00 a.m. CST this morning to take the contingency off or forfeit the lot.

Go for it.

I finally bought again a week before Katrina on the Gulf Coast. All I could think at the time was - karma is still kicking me in the butt.

But it ended up being okay.
