I have been off of SI for awhile (
), but I know I can count on all of you when I am in a real bind.
My girlfriend and I have been going strong for 5 years now!! However, I have no idea what to get her for Xmas. For starters, she is a successful professional....makes good money, no kids, owns her condo, etc. So she is always tough to buy for. Last year, I got her SCUBA diving lessons (which she loved
).
She has tons of jewelry so that is out of the question; as is most household and kitchen stuff (she already has everything).
HELP!!!!

CHRIA!!!!!
How about a trip to a place she can show off those SCUBA skills?
Good to see you!

Treat her to a day at the spa. I don't know any woman who wouldn't appreciate that!

SCUBA Trip!!!!
If that's out of the question, then a spa day is always good.
I also am always happy to get a high end quality leather bag.

I don't know what area you're in, but a hot air balloon trip (perhaps over wine country) is an absolutely fantastic way to spend a day!

Great ideas...but let me explain why this is so hard this year:
1) We just went on a Scuba trip (St. Lucia!). Since we just came back, we self-imposed a $200 spending limit for Xmas...so a trip is out of the question.
2) She does her own spa treatments once a month.
3) I am 6'6" tall...and let's just say that I am too large for a hot air balloon.
C'mon. You all had some good ideas there (even if I did shoot them down). Keep 'em coming....

What about a stain glass class? They have them here at Hobby Lobby. Like 6 classes for $200.00 and it's all hands on. You actually make your own piece of art
Who knows...she may really like it!!

hmmmm.... would a charitable gift be something she is interested in? Maybe give $150 to a cause shes passionate about, and then a token gift from you (some great coffee, wine, etc)
A bottle of wine or good liquor? Something that is meaningful to you guys (like, a bottle of wine from the year she was born?)
A trip to a vineyard/ a wine tasting
lingerie?
its hard when you have everything you want/need! But that's a good problem to have

You can bust the budget a little bit and get a new hand bag.
Or some very nice perfume, paired with something else.
Did you buy all your own gear? I was thinking a regulator but that is more than $200. But maybe something else?
Cashmere sweater
A personalized phone cover?
Books? Magazine subscriptions? A down payment for a trip to Paris?

Do you have a great picture of something or the two of you in St Lucia? If so, get it put on canvas and framed. Can do for under $200.
I would do something sentimental related to that trip to show her it was special for you as well.
Maybe recreate a dinner that you had there, complete with a kiddie pool, sand on your patio, fake palm tree and then a photo book, or pic on a mug, or a locket with a picture that means something to the 2 of you. See a sea turtle or a seahorse?
Does she have a pandora bracelet, if so a related charm.
$200 is a good amount if it is used in a romantic gesture.
If she likes to cook, a seafood cookbook, some specialty ingredients, maybe a class in making sushi or something.
Maybe a gift certificate for a private chef to come cook for her and friends or for the 2 of you.

A class of some sort together. Some areas offer cooking classes for couples that would be a lot of fun.
Can't do a hot air balloon rode for $200 around here anymore so even of you werent so dang tall I'm not sure that's an option.
How about hiring a service for something she dreads like housekeeping or laundry?
