It's full-blown winter outside, so I've got a crockpot full of Southwestern chicken and white bean soup going.

Mmm... nothing better than spicy soup on a cold and snowy day.

What's cooking at your place?

We had meatball subs. And chips. My oven is on the fritz, so I just wasn't in the mood to cook today.

White bean soup is on the stove. That's the official recipe name but I threw in some extra stuff that I had on hand so maybe I should call it white-bean-soup-surprise.

Microwaved leftover pasta... Wasn't feeling terribly inspired to cook. Still yummy and hot on a cold, icy, icky day.

The kids had leftover baked potato soup from a huge batch I made yesterday. Dh and I used the leftover meatballs and sauce we had to make subs. It was nice. I did so much cooking this week that I didn't have to do any today

baked potato soup

During the winter, I make a big batch of soup/stew each weekend and freeze it in lunch-sized portions to take to work the following week. You just gave me next week's inspiration.

This evening's dinner menu features old-fashioned, home made beef stew with fresh bread to sop up the gravy.

Those of us on the Canadian prairies are experiencing frigid temps right now so I needed a stick-to-your-ribs, warm, hearty meal.

You all have given me some great ideas for next week!

This is the first warm day we have had in awhile (got up to 24 °F today). Given the heat wave, we decided to finally get out of the house and get some Korean food. I had pork bul gogi, galbi, and a tall OB lager, which is what I was enjoying at the restaurant while watching Prater's record 64-yard field goal on the big screen. Ah, good stuff!

LF and I decided to try and make a home made version of Swiss Chalet chicken using a copy cat recipe and it turned out to be not quite the same but pretty good. Side of Tornado potatoes (oven roasted potato slices) and a piece of Domino bar.
