12/23 - 1/1 are holidays for us. I'm using some remaining vacation days to take off the week of the 16th, so that means I'll be away for over 2 1/2 weeks

When are you done for the year? Or if you are working through the holidays, are there any bright spots you're looking forward to?

12/20 - 1/6

I love having the same schedule as the kids .

Mr Unfound will be working Christmas this year, so that sucks.

I'm an accountant. Part of my job is payroll.

My company gives extended time off during the week between Christmas and New Years, but I'll be there working.

I won't get any time off until mid march.

FaithFool posted 12/9/2013 18:56 PM

WM, us workies love you payroll folks. Mwah!

However, my college gets payroll out for the 24th so our folks can take the week off. Brilliant.

My last day is the 20th, back on the 2nd. Looking forward to blissful lazy sleepin PJ days.

December 20 mostly. I go in for a few hours on the 24th just because I need to mop some stuff up. My boss told me not to. LOL.

At 5 pm on December 31st.

I'll be taking Christmas week and New Year's week off (but all employees have to work Sat 1/4). C'mon, Dec 20th at 5pm

I booked off starting this Friday and don't have daycare again until the first week of January. All of the parents of the kids I watch have vacation over Christmas that they take too. So I am off for 17 days starting on the 13th

I work in a hospital so there are no holidays-no closings or shortened hours

I've often wondered what that would be like

Retired as of October 1st...already done! Bwah ha ha!

Took off 1/2 day for my birthday next week.
Have Friday Dec. 20th off since it's the first day of the kid's vacation.
Work Dec. 23, 24.
We get Christmas and Boxing Day (26).
Then I have to work the 27th. So this would be my year end.

Vacation Dec. 30, 31, Jan. 2,3. Can't wait.

Looking forward to ex being MIA for the 3rd Christmas in a row.
No sharesies the kiddies for me. Yay!!

Well, in 14 years our youngest goes off to college.

ninebark posted 12/10/2013 07:07 AM

Well I work up to a half day Dec 24, then off until Dec 30 and 31. I don't usually take a lot of time off. Things are pretty relaxed around here during christmas anyway, it is pretty social so I like it. Plus I am almost out of vacation and our new year isn't until March 30....sooo I am hording my days off

HUFI-PUFI posted 12/10/2013 07:27 AM

As a husband and father, I didn't think we even get to stop working ... my wife hasn't told me that I can stop working yet ...

Sad in AZ posted 12/10/2013 07:35 AM

Oh, shut up!

Not only do I not get any vacation time, but I have to work until 12:30am on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and also have to travel into the lab on Christmas Day and New Year's Day to retrieve specimens from the incubator.

Ho ho no.

LosferWords posted 12/10/2013 07:52 AM

After this Friday the 13th, I am off for the rest of the year.

Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the tylenol?

Our year doesn't end - it's just more of the same.

So this year we do not get Christmas Eve off as a holiday. Instead for some reason the holidays are Christmas Day and Dec 26th. None of us are sure why.

So I put my vacation plans on our group calendar. I will work from home half a day on Christmas Eve then I will be out of the office on holiday or vacation through January 3.

After that it's anyone's guess as to how much longer I have. (As long as I don't get blindsided between now and then).

Well I am not sure how to answer this... since I am essential a 10-month employee and my work year runs Aug - May.

My holiday break is from 12/20 - 1/5. With Teacher work days on 12/20 and 1/6. Which is essential like not working since the kids aren't here!

Rebreather posted 12/10/2013 10:02 AM

I work a half day on the 20th and go back the 2nd.
