Every year I make candy at Christmas. My mom did and her mom did and my great grandmother probably did too. I had planned to cut way back this year - divinity, chocolate fudge and peanut brittle. I had even asked my husband for suggestions over a week ago. Just as I finished my grocery list yesterday, he decided he wanted several other candies. So, here's my updated candy list:

Hard candy

- cinnamon

- Spearmint

- Strawberry

- Raspberry

- Apple

Chocolate fudge

Peanut butter fudge

Peanut brittle

Peanut patties

Divinity

Buckeyes

Turtles

Chocolate covered brownie bites

Plus - 8 dozen cinnamon rolls and I have to finish sewing my daughter's Christmas dress with matching hair bows and matching ties for the boys.

Besides cookies, what are you making?

My daughter and I made 62 1/2 dozen of 11 varieties of cookies, plus I made a big batch of candied and chocolate-dipped orange peel. That's it for me!

I am making a three-part dessert sampler (orange-cardamom pound cake, orange jelly mousses, and the aforementioned orange peel) for a friend Christmas party on Saturday. And I will bake an eggnog cheesecake and a chocolate hazelnut torte for the family Christmas dinner dessert.

I read in your other post about cookies. 62 1/2 dozen is probably more cookies than I've made in the last 5 years. I did make 6 dozen Nutella cookies for a cookie exchange, but I'm done with cookies for this Christmas.

I made 4 breakfast pies, and 2 giant batches of Lasagna.

I quit with the cookies when 3 of 4 of us had a weight issue.

A standing snowman birthday cake for DS.

He's had a snowman cake for every birthday, with a different "theme" for each year. Last year was minimalist snowman - just eyes and a nose.

This year might be a cammo snowman, but the jury's still out.

Tushnurse- I love a good lasagna (heck, I even like a bad lasagna).

NIK - I have an especially thankful heart for parents who make December birthdays special separate from Christmas. Both my sister and I are December babies and our mom made it a point to celebrate them. I had friends whose parents rolled Christmas and birthday into one celebration. High five to you for going the extra mile during an already busy season!!

Looks a bit like fudge, smells like peppermint fudge... but no calories!

That soap looks amazing! I love handmade soap, unfortunately almost all the local soap makers include Shea butter in their recipes and I'm allergic. I should probably ask if they'd make a special batch, but they're always so busy and I don't know how worried I need to be about cross-contamination.
