Hi everyone - time to introduce myself. My D was final on 16 Dec 2013. I have spent most of my time on SI at the LTA thread as I discovered WW two plus year A in June 2011.

The year prior to DDay was awful - mistreatment, disrespect, and apathy. The two years post DDay trying to R were hard, very hard. Depression (mine) and lack of overt effort to make amends (hers). And then followed by six months of working out the detils of the D to make the best of things for our kids, her and I.

I have a contract on a condo that allows me to literally walk to work and close in January 2014. This will greatly improve my life as I currently use public transportation (not always timely or reliable) as I do not drive due to vision loss. My ex WW has the option to stay in our marital home until my youngest graduates from high school and I am very glad that I can do this for my DS. I hope my ex WW takes advantage of this and does not rush to downsize before then. (She had several home purchase contracts that fell apart for various reasons and I was going to refinance and stay in the marital home. Our settlement allows her to stay there with my equity due when the home is sold(.

As is true with others here on SI, my journey has been long, difficult and is continuing. I have come along way since DDay and am looking forward to my continuing progress and a wonderful 2014. I am looking forward to enjoying my new home on SI, New beginnings, and my new home in January.

Be safe! Be happy! Be healthy! Live with ease!

Welcome to NB! You're doing great for two years in, and a new place is the best medicine for starting over.

I've moved five times in as many years, bought and sold a house and a condo, and finally settled in a beautiful old rental apartment in a gorgeous mansion in a wonderful neighbourhood with everything at my doorstep.

The peace is unbelievable and I have a woodburning fireplace and a bathtub again *bliss*.

I'm in a city where houses are virtually unaffordable so I've accepted the fact that I'm not destined to own real estate anymore, and I'm fine with it. I enjoy letting the owner take care of things.

I hope you'll be very happy in your new condo. Being able to walk to work is such a gift.

I happily look forward to completing school so I can sell the marital home and be completely done with all ties to the STBXH.
Just 2 more years!
And....welcome to NBs.

As I sit here tonight in complete and utter despair, I read this and think maybe, just maybe there is some hope for happiness in my future.
Thank you so much for posting this H&C, :0)

Yes... The new home will definitely make life so much better! I moved in July, and I absolutely love my house! It feels so much more "me" and is just comfortable. My friends agree, and even my xMIL, who came to stay with me earlier this month, said this new house feels more inviting and comfortable!

Enjoy your new place!! May you have many happy firsts there!
