So a friend gave me a Thirty-One fitted purse skirt with my name embroidered on it for Christmas. She *thought* I had the fitted skirt purse ... I didn't. So, today I got an e-mail from my Thirty-One Consultant, 70% off, I went to the site and bought 2 more skirts for the purse and a tote. lol I still didn't have the purse. So I went to the consultants website .. and couldn't find the purse!! argh!! So I went to e-bay found it and bought it - just clicked right on that 'Buy it Now' button. Normally I would have put in a lower bid, waited, wondered, watched and maybe or maybe not gotten the purse. I JUST BOUGHT IT!! Ok, you people who are NOT shoppers may be thinking "What's the big deal?" The big deal is I did what I wanted, when I wanted! No worrying about what the STBXPOS would say!!!! Buahahahahah!!! hahahahahaha I feel HAPPY!

I strongly suggest then you go back to the site and get you a half dozen more skirts while they are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!

I have gotten damn near a whole new wardrobe (needed with my new size). All on winter sales.

It is goooooooood. I may just donate my whole closet.

Yep, I got a new wardrobe too. Then I lost yet another 20 pounds and bought an entirely new second wardrobe. Now, it's winter, and I didn't have ANY winter clothes or shoes that fit (yep my feet lost weight and I went down a size and a half there as well).
So I've thus far bought threee wardrobes, a few purses, and some fucking hot hot hot bitch boots for the winter. Finally found my cognac sexy boots I've been looking for all month long!

I swear by retail therapy. Oh, wait, got a few chemical peels, so no wrinkles (swear it takes 10 years off your face), an new hair do and color!!!
Shop til he drops (dead that is) baby!!!

I got all the skirts I like the colors of Undefinabl3!! I'm a picky purse person! haha But there are some darling ones on e-Bay!! May have to go back and do some bidding! hehe

WTG LittleFoggy and StillLivin, I do like the idea of a facial and hair-do .... hmmmmm, definitely getting some new clothes soon!

Tell us more about the chemical peels. Painful? Expensive? Can you still go out in public immediately after?

I'd REALLY like to do something like that!

My Cell Phone Pukes Up Extra.Caps. When I Get Home I'll Go Inyo Detail!

StillLivin posted 12/27/2013 20:42 PM

The chemical peels weren't painful at all. I had 3 total. Two were a medium grade peel, the third one was a mild chemical peel followed with mild microdermabrasion. They felt like mild cases of sunburn afterwards, and didn't hurt at all during the process. It took the lady about 45 minutes to apply them.
Expensive, relatively, but a hell of a lot cheaper than a face lift, and they cleared up the unevenness, and I swear I had skin like a newborn baby afterwards. And....the best part was I looked almost 10 years younger. Everybody that sees me now compliments me on the weight loss and they ask if I had a face lift! Or, they think I've gotten pregnant because of the glow of my skin!
I had to wear a high spf (spf50) and I could go out immediately, but it looked like I had a mild sunburn. My skin complexion is a medium to medium dark olive complexion. The peel doesn't take for the first 36 hours. So I would do it on a Thursday, go to work on a Friday and by Saturday and Sunday I would peel at home in the privacy of my own house. By Monday, my skin would still be slightly peeling, but nothing a good moisturizer couldn't help hide.
I follow up using Retin-A and some of the products the dermatologist recommended. They are a little pricier than the cosmetic departments charge, but not much, and they last longer and have MUCH better results. My skin looks great now. I will probably get a series ever 6 months or at least 1X a year.
I'm in my mid 40s and wish I had been doing this all along. My STBXH was deployed when I started doing this. When he came back, he noticed the weight loss, but he couldn't figure out exactly what it was that made me look so great. Haha, I still served his a$$ with LS papers the day after...and he was drooling each and everytime he saw me when he came to pick up his stuff.
Yep, retail therapy is so fantastic.
I'm thinking I'll do a little nip tuck on the eyes. They say if you are going to do it, do it before it is a drastic change (mid to late 40s).
Hope my t/j deviation didn't offend.
If anybody has more specific questions, go ahead and PM me.

I did some retail therapy myself based on this suggestion. New blue bag to show for it! Things were going fine until I was driving home and starting crying for no reason. Too bad the mall was closed. Maybe some online shopping??

I have also discovered the joys of buying things I want! New clothes, purses, hair cuts, and whatever. It just feels good to not think of what POS needs more than what the kids and I need. It has been a very long time since I bought something for me! It was hard at first but amazing. nice to hear I'm not the only one!!! So glad you are spending on YOU! enjoy!!!

Exactly!! I had my first mani/pedi ever a few months ago and it was heavenly. I told my therapist how I'm going to splurge on something for myself which was new bras and she looked at me and said "That's a necessity." My next adventure purchase will be a nice pair of sandals. My footwear consists of one pair of slippers and two pairs of shoes. I don't think I'm ready for purses ... too many choices.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE thinking about my needs first and not having to penny pinch on the kids and I so that stbx could have his toys.

No offense taken at all StillLivin!! You paid retail for the beauty treatment!!

I highly recommend Thirty-One for purses, they are a bit pricey compared to W*l*M*rt ... but cheap, cheap, cheap compared to Michael Kors!!! lol The other thing I like about the company is it is founded, owned and operated by a woman. They also have great totes, wallets and other accessories.
