I'm a bit pissed at a former coworker, still works at same place as I, but in a different dept. we used to work together ALOT. She sent a save the date card for her wedding, which is tonight, NYE. Plan was for myself and another coworker to attend together as each of our SO ( my WH and her BF don't get along at all...OW was engaged to friends BF during A, which is why they broke up).

So because our work schedule comes out months in advance and being a holiday, I had arranged to be off NYE, had used vacation time. Also had explained to WH that I would be away that night and had arranged for him to bring a friend to sporting event that we have season tix to that was occurring the same night. Also had arranged child care for that evening as we would both be out.

Well, never got an invite to the wedding!!! My friend got one, addressed to her and her BF. So now, I used vacation time to be off, had to cancel sitters and will be spending the evening home with my kids while my WH goes to game with his friend ( I would have gone with him, but his friend was so excited to go when I invited him).

Pissed because I had given this girl 2 tix to another game that were donated to a breast cancer fundraiser for another friend of hers, just 2 months ago. So it's not like we didn't see each other.

Wouldn't have bothered me but this is a holiday night and I had to make arrangements well in advance.

Thanks for the vent

Huge faux pas. What a rude bride. Sorry your NYE plans got derailed!

Married -> I cheated -> We divorced -> We remarried -> Had two kids -> Now we’re miserable again

Staying together for the kids

if you received a save the date card, I would ask if your invite got lost in the mail... do you know that it didn't get lost

I figured I wasn't getting an invite when my other coworker got one addressed to her and her bf, when it had been previously agreed that we would both go stag. So I get to spend NYE with my kids. Saved me $$ in the long run, no hotel, no gift, didn't have to buy a dress so I'm coming out ahead

Did you check with coworker about invite? If you send save the date card, then it's safe to assume that you will get an invite.

Maybe your invite got lost in the mail?

Maybe she's an unbelievably rude bridezilla....

I say make the best of it with your kids... relax and enjoy the night.

You'll be home and away from the crazies this way.

I'm with the others that it might be lost. Only because I can't imagine someone being rude enough to send you a save the date card, for a holiday night no less, and then not sending an invitation. I mean it's so rude it's bizarre.

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.
