The more mature members might remember the epic NYE Bar threads that Toddc hosted many years ago. If memory serves, we filled up an entire thread that night

This probably won't be that great, and I'll probably fall asleep before 10:00, but let's get started!

Everyone is welcome

I got to start drinking at work. We did a toast at 3 pm with actual full glasses of bubbly, then we got to leave.

I'm sure I'll be popping in and out of this thread tonight, but just in case, let me wish all y'all the happiest of New Years! May 2014 be the year all of us hope it to be!

I'm gonna say Happy New Year now because as of ten minutes from now, I'm off for the rest of the night. Aged pepper steaks, amarone, veggies and macarons, with champagne later, are all calling my name.

I personally had an excellent 2013, but some of you may feel like a friend of my daughter's buddy, who posted on FB: "I want to disembowel 2013 and then chop off its head, just so 2014 will know I'm not fucking around!" Feel free.

A votre santé.

I'm drinking a glass of cheap red wine in a soda glass because all our wine glasses are packed away.

It's pretty yummy either way, and it's creating a nice buzz, even from a soda glass.

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

Hi guys and gals! I'll be in and out all night.

I have to get dinner in the oven. Toasted ravioli. We first had them this summer in St. Louis. I'm now addicted.

Same here. I was telling LD about all the good music there was going to be on Rockin' Eve (minus Dick Clark, that is just wrong on so many levels), and he said, "Shit, you think we're going to even be up?"

Just peeking in. Probably won't be back in tonight and definitely won't make it to midnight. H has to be to work at 3AM, so early to bed here.

Drinking a dr pepper right now. Probably have a glass of wine as soon as the two year old drink thief goes to bed.

Just back from a long walk and having tea.

Will be having Henkell Trocken + blackberry cocktails with my chips and hummus, ravioli later, and may stay up late.

Hell, I didn't get out of bed until 10:30 this a.m. and that tells you how well I've gotten the hang of this holiday thing.

It's after midnight in the UK, Happy New Year to my Irish, Scottish and Brit peeps!
