I started re-doing my bedroom today!! I packed up all of SAWH's stuff, removed his bookcase from the room, painted and have a new chandelier with a silver medallion to hang.It is hot pink/bright orange with assorted Diva/Glam/old hollywood accessories and is soooo girly!!! A chandelier style bedside lamp, maralyn and audry wall hangings, hot pink and animal print high heel decorations. This stuff was all things I already had too which is good because SAWH left me broker than broke - that's how my studio was decorated and I am in the process of closing it. I cannot wait until its done! Just the pick me up I needed!

Bring on my new and improved life!!!

Oh wow. That sounds amazing! Can you maybe post a picture? I'd love to see it.

I've always had neutral colours in my room, in deference to any male I was in a relationship with. When I'm in a place where I can splurge on stuff for me, I'm going make my room girly too (though hopefully in a classy, adult way like it sounds like you did).

The day I kicked him out I went and bought new sheets and a new pillow (Kohl's sales rock!!) I haven't done too much to change things yet, going slow because I don't want my kids to freak.

I want to get rid of everything he had an opinion about when we bought it. Some of it I'm just going to give to him, some I'm going to break/burn or otherwise destroy. Can't wait for the bonfire!

So happy to hear I'm not the only one with a yen to re-decorate ... wtg sdl!!!

Bring on my new and improved life!!!

Yes, yes and damn YES!!

It's more college girl but I'm ok with that! Lol when it's done I will post pics

I want every picture of him GONE! After first Dday I took down every picture of him during his affair. Little did I know he had cheated me since before we were even married. Very soon they come down but I also don't want the kids to freak. Luckily he isn't their biological dad so I don't have to worry too much about his pictures. My whole house feels tainted since he brought OW and OM here.

My STBXH was one of those dreamers - he'd come up with this great plan, some get-rich-quick scheme, and then half-ass pursue it until he eventually lost interest. I had a fabulous couple of days of getting rid of all that shit once he left. The damn chicken coop that he put together when he got it into his head that he could sell farm fresh eggs, the boxes of soap-making crap from when he thought he'd make it rich selling home-made soaps, the seed starter sets for the herbs he was going to sell, the homemade solar paneling that never worked - all of it taking up so much space and such a huge reminder of how much I put up with. Clearing it out of my house, my yard, my life and my heart - definitely a fabulous experience. Have fun wiping it all away!

I can see clearly now, the rain has gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright, bright sun-shiny day
