So those of you that read on OT know I just became an aunt again Saturday. My sister and BIL are arguing about the name. She wants to name him "Charlie" which was the name of her first dog who died. BIL is like "we are not naming him after the dog." BIL wants to name him Vince. Sis is like "We aren't naming him after an Italian mobster!" ( For the record their last name starts with a D and is Scotch-Irish.)

Sis texted her biological father who is not the sharpest crayon in the pack. She said "he is healthy but his name is TBD." Her father texts back: I need a NAME not INITIALS! We almost all busted a gut over that one.

Omigod

Tell your BIL it's not without precident. My baby brother was named after the dog. (At least, that's what we tell him...)

No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.

Some people do have initials as a name - remember BJ Honeycutt from M*A*S*H?

TBD would be a grand name.

Well since the last name starts with D...

I think now they MUST have his first name start with T and middle name start with B...

Thus his initials would be TBD - and I think that's awesome!
