I am lurking in D/S. I thought we were reconciling. but , not so sure.

I live in California( moved here 3 years ago)

I am currently not working, if I file for divorce will i get:

1. spousal support
2. covered under WS insurance?

Need to get ducks in a row prior to making any life altering decisions.

I really can't answer your questions but wanted to let you know that even though I am not certain WH and I are divorcing, I've learned a lot on this forum and keep reading the various threads. My WH doesn't seem to want to communicate so we are neither D or R---- but I am learning from this forum and have met with lawyers so when I feel and/or know the time is right- I will be prepared. So whether you belong or not.....you will learn and be empowered.

I would suggest getting a free consult with a lawyer.
Eta.. get a bunch. I weaseled a bunch of free legal advice out of mine

Or check to see if there is a legal aide hotline for your county. They can give out legal advice for free over the phone.

Typically, your WS would be required to maintain your insurance while you are going through the process, but not after you are divorced.

My state requires the working spouse continue to support a non working spouse until the divorce is final. But I am not in Cali.

25 years of marriage certainly entitles you to support if you aren't working. How much mostly depends on his income and some depends on your ability to find employment. You can stay on his insurance until divorce is final.

Something I learned from my lawyer: My STBX is 62 and should he decide to retire in 3 years, my support will decline drastically. Wasn't very happy with that piece of news.
