From the Urban Dictionary:

Flirtationship - More than a friendship, less than a relationship.

I never heard this word before! Sounds like the 'slippery slope' to me or the start of an EA, but what a concise word to describe that slippery slope.
I have to tell you, this sums up precisely my wh's activities: secret flirtationships.

Doesn't make it hurt any less though.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting and I feel, unfortunately, describes a lot of workplace "friendships".

I have a single friend who is in a self-described flirtationship with a single man. They're both over 30, been burned many times and live over 1,000 miles away from each other. Basically, for her, it's a trial relationship. To see if they're really compatible without making an actual commitment. Definitely would cross a line for a married person to be involved in a flirtationship like hers.

Yep, one article I read said the "work wife" could be a synonym.
