This weekend gets the sunglasses. Not because it's warm here or anything...actually we are getting 2-5 inches of snow/ice/sleet...take your freaking pick.

t/j: (can I jack my own thread?)

So yesterday was my b-day. For the first time in over 10 years, I was sung happy birthday to! And by a quirk, my students found out it was my b-day the day before...so yesterday they brought me cards and two of them even got me little gifts. Very sweet.

end of my own t/j.

After school played in the staff vs. 8th grade basket ball game...stands were packed. No kid can outrun/outsprint this 36 year old! Holy ego kibbles.

Took Teslet out for dinner before his dad picked him up. Then headed out for drinks with coworkers.

Today, back to normal. Cleaning, laundry, coursework. Maybe going to see a local band this evening.

Tomorrow I'd like to get out shopping...more coursework...then off to rescue Teslet from the bowels of chaos.

Happy birthday tesla!

Last night my plans got canceled due to the weather, so I stayed home drinking beer and relaxing.

My friend canceled on our morning run today due to snow (even though she owns yaktrax and it's a relatively warm 18) so now I'm trying to motivate myself to go alone.

Then a coffee and movie second date. Then dinner/fundraiser at the nature center where I volunteer, though I may bail on that since I hate driving in bad weather.

Tomorrow is running with a (reliable) friend, then a basketball game and late lunch with my parents. Finally, I'll be missing the superbowl to go to a concert with some friends.

Yet another too-short weekend.

And happy birthday again :)

well Happy Birthday Tesla!!

I am having my very first "kid-less" weekend in 7 months...

after dropping off my dd13 at the airport last night a friend asked me to join her for drinks (she was with a big group) and to hear our favorite cover band. YES!

I went, danced my ass off.. and had a blast! So much fun! I didn't realize how many single people there are out there, and many of them should NOT be wearing certain things or drinking so much if you know what I mean.

I was hit on by a "kid" - who told me he didn't mind that I was 16 years older than he is.. sadly for him, I did mind! No thank you young pup. But the ego boost was nice anyway. His friends did not believe me when I told them I am 43. Ha! My friends thought it was hilarious. Thankfully, I had plenty of grown-up men to dance with after that!

Tonight I am going downtown to have dinner for a Girls Night Out - then to see another live band play. So excited!

Tomorrow is a massage and pedicure, then I need to get ready for the work week. Sigh. Kids don't come home until Wednesday (school break for students) so I have dinner plans mixed in!

Happy Birthday, Tesla!

I spent the WHOLE day today moving into my new house. I won't actually sleep there until Wednesday night because the gas won't be turned on until then and I'm fond of hot showers. The house is absolutely amazing, though.

Tomorrow is my Grandma's 87th birthday. I'm baking her a cake and we're having a huge family gathering for her at my aunt's house. I'm looking forward to sleeping in most, though.

Happy Birthday, Tesla!

This weekend started on a high and is ending on a low. Last night, I went out with a friend for drinks/dinner. She then went shopping with me to pick out a new laptop for my class that starts in March. We had a great time, but I ended up not feeling well when we got home and slept really crappy because of it.

Then, this morning, I go to take a shower and the shower starts backing up into the shower in the other bathroom. Not good. So, I call the plumber and he says it's clog in the main sewer line. Tries to unclog it and ends up pulling up a bunch of roots. Not good at all. So I have a semi-working water/sewer system and the plumber will be coming back on Monday with a camera to see what's going on. Either way, it won't be cheap. I had a mini breakdown as money has been tight lately.

I guess the only good news is that I called the Gnat (we still own the house together) and he's agreed to pay the repair no matter how much. He said if it's over $5,000 we will just have to agree in writing that he can get half of that back when we sell the home. All of this is making realize that we may just have to do that as it might just be too costly to keep.

Tomorrow, I plan to do a hike and go to a Superbowl party even though I hate football. Hopefully, they have some good food.
